Bean's Blog

It's a blog. It's a blog about random things. Maybe sometimes about family, maybe sometimes about friends, perhaps about aliens? turtles? knitting? books?

knits from my past

So since I only started this blog thing now, and I've been knitting for a few years, I thought I would post some pictures of knitted items that I've done in the past. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of my best work, so these are just random things from the past 3 or 4 years...

This is a baby blanket that I made for Tomi's baby Brenda. Brenda is now a year and a half, so I guess I knitted this a couple of years ago.

(HEY! my foot is on the bottom of that picture!!!)

This is a mohair scarf I made for a friend's mom. She had had surgery on her neck and was feeling a little self conscious about it. I made her 4 different scarves for her to wear while she was healing. this was one of them. It was done in while mohair.

Here's another of the 4 I made her. of the 4, this is the one I liked the least. however, it was the quickest to knit. it was done in variagated thicker mohair yarn.

Ah... this is one of my latest projects. So this from my RECENT past. I think I finished it like a week or two ago. It's the zig zag scarf from the book modular knits. I'm so impressed with this woman's creativity! I saw her on Knitty Gritty and had to get the book.
This scarf was done in 50/50 silk wool yarn. worsted weight by Tess' Yarns. it had been knitted and frogged about 3 separate times but I was never quite happy with the results... until this scarf.

What did you do this weekend?

People always ask me on Mondays "So, what did you do this weekend?"

This monday I could answer with a picture

Oh yes, inspired by the toilet paper cozies made on DIY Knitty Gritty... They're not quite as nice, because I didn't want to have to do color changes during the knitting. I just sewed on a bunch of colors withic didn't turn out so good. Still... I was ok with the results, considering I made 9 of them (one not in pic) over the weekend. Quick project.
